About the job Azure DevOps Engineer Remote | Freelance | ASAP Start We are seeking an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer for a contract opportunity, responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting secure, scalable Azure cloud platforms. This role will focus on cloud infrastructure, automation, DevOps practices, and platform optimisation, working closely with engineering, architecture, and operations teams to deliver reliable cloud solutions. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure, including serverless services, networking, and platform automation. Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform. Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps. Automate operational processes using Python and PowerShell scripting. Enhance monitoring, logging, and alerting using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics. Implement security and governance controls using Azure Policy and cloud best practices. Troubleshoot and resolve platform incidents, supporting operational stability and continuous improvement. Maintain technical documentation and support compliance requirements within regulated environments. Contribute to platform improvements, architecture discussions, and ways of working. Technical Experience Required: Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services. Hands-on experience with Azure Functions, Virtual Networks (VNets), Network Security Groups (NSGs), DNS, ExpressRoute, and cloud networking. Proven experience developing and managing CI/CD pipelines. Strong Infrastructure as Code experience, particularly with Terraform. Experience with Git-based source control and GitHub workflows. Strong scripting capability using Python and/or PowerShell. Experience with cloud monitoring, security, and governance practices. Desirable Experience: Experience with Azure Cosmos DB or other NoSQL technologies. Understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns. Experience delivering cloud solutions within regulated or highly controlled environments. Ability to collaborate across development, architecture, and operational teams.
