Job Description
We are looking for an experienced AWS Solutions Architect for a project for our client from the EdTech industry. Responsibilities
Working with client stakeholders, including C-level executives, to understand business needs and define cloud transformation goals
Designing scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS architectures (ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, SNS/SQS, EventBridge, VPC)
Creating target architectures and migration or modernization roadmaps for legacy systems (monolith to cloud-native or hybrid)
Identifying technical and operational risks and defining mitigation strategies
Designing and reviewing application architectures, including monoliths, microservices, REST APIs, event-driven systems, authentication, authorization, and service-to-service communication
Supporting teams in designing APIs, data flows, and integration patterns between applications and cloud services
Advising on architectural trade-offs (monolith vs microservices, synchronous vs asynchronous, serverless vs containerized)
Supporting development and operations teams in debugging complex production issues
Analyzing and correlating application logs, cloud infrastructure logs and metrics, and distributed traces
Setting up and improving logging, monitoring, and observability across the application and cloud layers
Helping teams identify root causes of performance, stability, and scalability issues
Implementing and maintaining AWS infrastructure (EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda)
Designing and improving CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Bitbucket Pipelines)
Automating environments using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK)
Supporting application and environment migrations to AWS
Ensuring security best practices across infrastructure and applications (IAM, network security, secrets management)
Working with development teams to meet compliance and security standards (e.g. ISO, SOC-like, or banking-grade frameworks)
Building high-availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies
Implementing and improving monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes
Estimating cloud costs and contributing to financial modeling and pricing discussions
Continuously optimizing AWS costs and resource utilization
Advising teams on scalable, maintainable, and cost-efficient designs
Profile / Requirements
3–5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS in production environments
Strong experience in designing and operating cloud-based applications, not just infrastructure
Solid background in application development or architecture (PHP, Java, or similar technologies)
Proven experience working with REST APIs, monolithic and microservice architectures, and event-driven systems
Hands-on experience in debugging applications running in cloud environments
Strong knowledge of logging, monitoring, and observability (CloudWatch, OpenSearch, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.)
Experience with Docker and container orchestration (ECS and/or EKS)
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Proficient level of English
Nice To Have
Experience in correlating application logs with cloud infrastructure metrics to troubleshoot production issues
Experience with distributed tracing (OpenTelemetry, X-Ray)
Experience working in regulated or high-availability environments
Knowledge of performance optimization at both the application and infrastructure level
Additional AWS or DevOps certifications (DevOps Engineer, Security, SysOps, Networking)
