About this role
The R&D Product Development Supervisor will lead and develop a team of five engineers while remaining actively involved in product development, sustaining engineering, and technical problem-solving. The role involves driving VAVE, cost-reduction, and productivity initiatives to improve an established portfolio of high-volume engineered products. The position works closely with Manufacturing, Quality, and Product Management departments to improve product manufacturability, reliability, and performance. Key responsibilities include supporting product design, engineering changes, and root-cause investigations. The candidate must have a most experience in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronics engineering and practical CAD experience, specifically with Creo. The role requires a balance of technical credibility and effective people leadership.

You will lead and develop a team of five engineers while remaining actively involved in product development, sustaining engineering, VAVE, cost optimisation and technical problem-solving. The role works closely with Manufacturing, Quality and Product Management to improve an established portfolio of high-volume engineered products.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop the engineering team.
- Set priorities and provide day-to-day technical guidance.
- Support product design, engineering changes and technical reviews.
- Drive VAVE, cost-reduction and productivity initiatives.
- Improve product manufacturability, reliability and performance.
- Support product maintenance, qualification and obsolescence management.
- Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers.
- Ensure compliance with development and quality processes.
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience in product development, R&D or sustaining engineering.
- Previous leadership experience within a technical team.
- Strong hands-on engineering and project-management capability.
- Experience with VAVE, cost optimisation and Design for Manufacturing.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Practical CAD experience; Creo is strongly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, prioritisation and communication skills.
- Fluent German and English.
