About The Role We are seeking a (Mid)-Senior Software Engineer (m/w/d) with a focus on automation and artificial intelligence to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining automation solutions that enhance our service offerings for energy sector clients. You will work closely with both internal teams and clients to implement cutting-edge automation and AI-driven processes, ensuring optimal performance and scalability. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on impactful projects involving automation as a service, integrating AI agents, and advancing our technological capabilities in a rapidly evolving industry. The role involves a blend of strategic planning, hands-on development, and client interaction, providing a comprehensive experience in automation technology within a supportive and innovative environment. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess several years of experience as a software engineer, preferably with a background in automation platforms or related fields. Strong programming skills in at least one modern language are essential, with a preference for candidates experienced in automation technologies such as RPA, iPA, or agent-based systems. Familiarity with tools like UiPath or n8n is advantageous but not mandatory. Candidates should have proven expertise in implementing complex processes, backend development involving APIs, data integration, and event messaging. Solid DevOps practices, including CI/CD, containerization, observability, and cloud computing (Azure, AWS, or GCP), are required. Excellent communication skills in German are mandatory, with English proficiency considered a plus. Industry experience in energy, regulated B2B environments, or familiarity with energy-specific systems like SAP IS-U / S/4HANA Utilities, Wilken, or Schleupen will be viewed favorably. Knowledge of GDPR and EU AI regulations is also beneficial. Responsibilities Your daily responsibilities will include developing and operating automation solutions as part of our "Automation as a Service" offerings for energy clients. You will be responsible for designing scalable automation workflows, integrating AI agents, and ensuring the robustness of our automation platform. You will actively participate in the technological advancement of our automation and AI services, contributing to new feature development and system improvements. Direct collaboration with customers will be a key aspect, requiring clear communication and understanding of client needs. Additionally, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions within existing IT landscapes, leveraging your backend expertise and DevOps practices to maintain high availability and performance of our services.
