Pave is on a mission to democratize wealth management by revolutionizing how financial advisers spend their time. Our platform is powered by a proprietary ML algorithm previously only available for billionaires. We enable advisors to build personalized investment strategies and automate trading across their entire book of business—empowering them to spend more time focusing on their client relationships and growing assets under management (AUM).

Pave is scaling fast, with significant customer growth in the past quarter and even more expected through the new year. With more clients comes more strain to our small team (a good problem to have!) and there are plentiful opportunities to help the company scale reliably. This is the focus of our growing Internal team. We’re looking for a Junior Software Engineer who is proficient working with AI and excited to work across teams to help improve the day-to-day for everyone at Pave. This is a role with a lot of agency and autonomy, a bit of a playground for learning and trying on many hats. We are looking for people who want to make an impact and contribute their ideas.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Take on tasks as requested and follow through to completion despite roadblocks or distractions.

What we’re looking for

• 0 - 2 + years of professional experience in software engineering or site reliability engineering, a BSc in Software Engineering or Computer Science or higher degree is a nice to have.
• General understanding of code, structures, and algorithms.
• Ability to learn other coding languages as needed.
• Comfortable contributing across the stack (TypeScript, React and SQL databases)
• Proficient in using AI coding tools.
• Preferred:
• Collaboration abilities in cross-functional startup environments and strong technical communication skills
• Default to automating and abstracting painful manual workflows
• Enjoy writing clean code, thinking about system design, and scaling both systems and developer productivity
• Are proactive, low-ego, and comfortable owning projects end-to-end

Location: New York City, 3 days in-office / week (hybrid).

Compensation: $115,000–$140,000 base + sizable equity.
