Senior Windows System Engineer - Level 3 (Azure / Automation / Cloud Infrastructure)
Location: Bern | Hybrid working model | German (Swiss German or high German level) required
For a modern and technologically sophisticated IT environment, we are looking for an experienced Senior Windows System Engineer (Level 3) who will act as a technical sparring partner and escalation instance within a complex Microsoft infrastructure.
In this role, you will not only take responsibility for stable Windows and Azure platforms, but will also be actively involved in the further development of cloud infrastructures, automation and architecture topics. You will support less experienced engineers, lead technical projects and help design sustainable solutions for enterprise environments.
Your tasks
Technical responsibility for complex Windows Server and Azure infrastructures
Level 3 escalation management for demanding technical topics around Windows 365, Microsoft Azure and cloud services
Plan and execute migrations, system upgrades, and infrastructure modernizations
Design, implementation, and optimization of automation solutions
Further development of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) approaches
Use and maintenance of Ansible, Puppet or comparable automation tools
Support and coaching of Level 2 engineers
Technical management of projects and active participation in infrastructure initiatives
Collaboration with architecture teams and interpretation of technical architecture concepts
Ensuring Stability, Security, and Performance in Productive Enterprise Systems
Your profile
Several years of experience as a Windows System Engineer in enterprise environments
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure (mandatory)
Experience with cloud migrations, configurations, updates, and lifecycle management
Very good knowledge of PowerShell, automation and infrastructure as code
Hands-on experience with Ansible, Puppet, or similar configuration management tools
Experience in complex production environments as well as incident/problem management
Ability to think strategically about technical topics and implement them operationally
Ideally experience in reading or helping to shape IT architectures
Very good knowledge of German (CH-DE or high level of German)
