About the job Job Description Senior MLOps & Generative AI Engineer Location: Virginia Beach, VA (Fully Remote) Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence Work Shift: First (Days) Overview: Sentara is hiring a Senior MLOps & Generative AI Engineer to lead enterprise AI initiatives in healthcare, focusing on MLOps and Generative AI. City & Local Guides Key Responsibilities MLOps Engineering: Design, build, and maintain scalable ML infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, governance, and automation. Generative AI Engineering: Architect, deploy, and optimize GenAI applications using LLMs, RAG architectures, vector databases, and AI evaluation frameworks. Collaborate with AI Scientists, Data Engineers, and Product teams to operationalize AI/ML solutions. Ensure platform scalability, security, and compliance in healthcare environments (PHI, HIPAA). Required Qualifications 5+ years in production software/ML systems. 1+ year in production GenAI or LLM applications. Strong Python skills and experience with PyTorch, Hugging Face, TensorFlow. Hands-on experience with RAG, vector databases, and LLM orchestration frameworks. Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP), Kubernetes, CI/CD, and MLOps practices. Preferred Qualifications Healthcare experience with EPIC, HIPAA, and AI governance. GPU optimization, multi-agent systems, event-driven architectures, or model fine-tuning (LoRA, RLHF). Mentoring experience. Education & Experience 5+ years of relevant experience with a degree, or 7+ years without a degree. Experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree accepted. Certification/Licensure None required. Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence Compensation Base pay: $91,416.00 - $152,380.80 annually (Full Time). Additional compensation may be available.
