About Our Client: The organization provides a behavioral health Practice Management and Electronic Health Records (EHR) software platform designed to support clinicians with scheduling, billing, documenting, telehealth, and other administrative functions. Their software aims to improve the efficiency of behavioral health providers by managing critical operational tasks, supporting a growing 24x7 Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform. 2. About the Opportunity: The Senior Database Site Reliability Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of the organization''s PostgreSQL database services that support a 24x7 SaaS platform. This role focuses on maintaining high availability, optimizing performance, enhancing observability, and driving incident response and automation. The position collaborates with cross-functional teams to maintain smooth database operations and uphold security compliance. 3. Responsibilities: • Design, implement, and maintain high-availability, high-throughput PostgreSQL database systems supporting a 24x7 SaaS platform. • Define and improve database service reliability through monitoring, alerting, and SLO-oriented metrics. • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident corrective actions for database production events. • Collaborate with technical leaders to ensure new systems are supportable and maintainable. • Provide escalated technical guidance and support across technology teams. • Provide on-call production support coverage as required. • Ensure compliance with HIPAA security policies and organizational security and operating policies. • Own and improve database observability using tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalents. • Automate system maintenance tasks using scripting languages and infrastructure as code tools. • Maintain PostgreSQL ecosystem components like PgBouncer, PgBackrest, HaProxy, and RepMgr. • Communicate effectively across teams. 4. Requirements: • BS degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience. • 7-10+ years of experience in Database Engineering, Systems Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering. • Experience with cloud-based compute, storage, and containerization solutions (preferably Azure and Kubernetes). • Proficiency with PostgreSQL operations in Linux environments. • Expertise with observability/monitoring platforms such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or New Relic. • Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments and operating production services with ITSM practices. 5.
