About the Role

Alliance Mobile is executing a major modernization initiative centered around Version 2 (V2) of its internal operations, reporting, and data platform.

V2 development is already underway, with foundational application, data, reporting, and infrastructure work in progress. We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Engineer who can quickly understand the existing architecture and business requirements and help accelerate delivery across the platform.

While V2 is a major focus, it is not the only initiative the engineering team supports. Alliance Mobile has a growing portfolio of technology, data, reporting, integration, and operational projects requiring strong engineering ownership.

This is a hands-on role for someone comfortable taking projects from requirements and technical discovery through architecture, development, testing, deployment, and production support. The ideal candidate is adaptable, self-directed, technically strong, and able to move between projects while maintaining high engineering standards.

Primary Mission

Help accelerate the development and expansion of Alliance Mobile's V2 platform while contributing to other technology initiatives across the organization.

The engineer will work across frontend applications, backend services, APIs, integrations, databases, and platform architecture and will take meaningful ownership of projects from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Stack Application Development

• Design, develop, and enhance modern user-facing functionality using React.

• Build responsive dashboards, reporting interfaces, administrative tools, and operational applications.

• Develop reusable UI components and maintain clean, scalable frontend architecture.

• Integrate frontend applications with backend services and APIs.

• Optimize application performance, usability, and reliability.

• Work within the existing V2 architecture while identifying opportunities to improve it.

• Rapidly translate business requirements into reliable production functionality.

Backend Development

• Design, develop, and enhance backend services using Python and FastAPI.

• Build and maintain REST APIs supporting V2 and other internal applications.

• Implement authentication, authorization, and role-based access controls.

• Develop services supporting reporting, operational workflows, integrations, and data retrieval.

• Implement logging, monitoring, error handling, testing, and performance optimization.

• Design backend solutions capable of supporting continued platform growth.

• Troubleshoot issues across application, API, database, and integration layers.

Data & Systems Integration

• Develop integrations with internal and external systems and data sources.

• Support ingestion, transformation, retrieval, and delivery of operational and reporting data.

• Work with data engineering resources to ensure application data is reliable, accessible, and performant.

• Optimize database queries, APIs, and data access patterns.

• Support migration of functionality and data from legacy systems into V2.

• Build integrations and services that connect business systems and reduce manual processes.

V2 Platform Development & Modernization

• Take ownership of V2 workstreams already in development and move them toward completion.

• Accelerate the transition of business processes, reporting capabilities, and operational functionality from V1 to V2.

• Evaluate existing V2 implementations and improve architecture or functionality where necessary.

• Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making.

• Identify technical gaps, dependencies, risks, and opportunities before they become delivery blockers.

• Establish scalable engineering patterns and standards that can be reused throughout the platform.

• Contribute to the eventual retirement of legacy V1 systems where appropriate.

Additional Engineering Initiatives

• Contribute to projects beyond the core V2 platform as organizational priorities evolve.

• Take projects from requirements and technical discovery through implementation and production deployment.

• Work across application development, APIs, automation, integrations, reporting, and data-driven initiatives.

• Quickly become productive in unfamiliar systems or business areas.

• Balance multiple priorities while maintaining strong engineering standards and communication.

• Identify technical solutions to operational and business problems rather than limiting work to predefined development tasks.

End-to-End Project Ownership

• Own assigned projects and workstreams through the complete software development lifecycle.

• Participate in requirements gathering and translate business needs into technical solutions.

• Evaluate architectural and implementation options and recommend practical approaches.

• Develop, test, validate, deploy, and support production solutions.

• Proactively identify dependencies, risks, edge cases, and potential technical issues.

• Coordinate with stakeholders and technical resources when dependencies exist.

• Produce maintainable documentation and support knowledge transfer.

• Ensure delivered functionality works end-to-end rather than considering development complete when one component is finished.

Experience with this technology stack is strongly preferred.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.

• Strong React development experience.

• Strong Python development experience.

• Experience building APIs using FastAPI or similar Python frameworks.

• Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar relational databases.

• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.

• Strong understanding of frontend, backend, and full-stack application architecture.

• Experience integrating applications with multiple systems and data sources.

• Experience troubleshooting and debugging production systems.

• Experience carrying projects from requirements and design through development, testing, deployment, and production support.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate ambiguity.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and maintain momentum without constant direction.

• Ability to quickly understand existing systems, business processes, and technical architectures.

• Ability to manage changing priorities and contribute across multiple concurrent initiatives.

• Strong ownership and accountability for delivering complete, production-ready solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building internal business applications and operational platforms.

• Experience supporting analytics, reporting, or business intelligence solutions.

• Experience with OpenID Connect (OIDC), Single Sign-On (SSO), and secure authentication/authorization workflows.

• Experience working with sales organizations and understanding reporting requirements, KPIs, commissions, incentives, and operational dashboards.

• Experience integrating multiple internal and external systems and data sources.

• Experience with Azure environments and deploying/supporting applications on Heroku.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub workflows, automated testing, and modern deployment practices.

• Experience in telecommunications, retail, or other high-volume operational environments.

• Experience modernizing or replacing legacy applications.

• Experience joining an active software initiative and quickly becoming productive within an established codebase and architecture.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an experienced engineer who combines strong technical ability with ownership, adaptability, and execution.

You should be comfortable entering an active development environment, understanding what has already been built, determining what needs to happen next, and moving projects forward without requiring every step to be predefined.

You should also be comfortable moving between frontend development, backend services, APIs, databases, integrations, data-related functionality, and architecture depending on project needs.

We value engineers who can take a business problem or project objective, understand the broader context, develop an effective technical approach, and carry the work through implementation, testing, deployment, and production validation.

This is not a narrowly focused frontend role or a maintenance-only role, and the position is broader than a single V2 project. It is a high-impact engineering position supporting Alliance Mobile's V2 modernization effort and additional technology initiatives across the organization.
