About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in Content Delivery and automated CDN configuration management to join our CDN team on a remote basis. This six-month contract role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge infrastructure projects that support media delivery and play capabilities at a global scale. As a key member of our cross-functional team, you will contribute significantly to the development, optimization, and maintenance of our foundational backend systems. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of content delivery to millions of users worldwide, ensuring a seamless media experience. The role requires a proactive individual capable of designing scalable solutions, supporting critical services, and collaborating effectively within an agile environment. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in backend development, with specific experience in CDN management or content delivery systems. You should have hands-on experience working within cloud-based environments such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform. A solid understanding of networking principles and CDN provider SDKs is essential, along with experience working with technologies such as Envoy, Kubernetes, and Java. Candidates should demonstrate a passion for learning new technologies, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Prior experience participating in on-call rotations and maintaining operational responsibility for critical services is highly desirable. Responsibilities Enhance and maintain core infrastructure systems that serve as the backbone of the company's backend platform. Develop, support, and operate central services with a focus on reliability, scalability, and security. Contribute to defining the technical strategy and product direction for the CDN and content delivery infrastructure. Work with advanced technologies at a large scale, supporting thousands of developers and billions of end-users. Participate in on-call duties to ensure continuous operation and quick resolution of issues in production environments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable, efficient, and secure infrastructure solutions. Implement automation and infrastructure as code practices to streamline deployment and management processes.
