You will be joining a small but highly productive IT Team consisting of four professionals covering the full-service range for our local as well as satellite offices across Europe, Middle East & Asia. The position is newly created for an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer design, implement, and manage our cloud infrastructure within Microsoft Azure. This role is critical to ensuring the security, scalability, and reliability of our IT landscape in a regulated financial environment. The place of work for this position is Zurich, and you will work closely with IT, security, and application teams to support business-critical systems, drive automation, and continuously improve our cloud capabilities.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Cloud Infrastructure & Operations
Design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure (IaaS, PaaS,)
Maintain high availability, performance, and resilience of cloud services
Manage compute, storage, networking, and identity services in Azure
Monitor cloud environments and proactively resolve issues
DevOps & Automation
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines
Automate infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code
Improve deployment processes and system reliability through automation
Support development teams with cloud-native solutions
Security & Compliance Alignment
Implement security controls aligned with company policies and regulatory requirements
Manage identity and access (Azure AD, RBAC, Conditional Access)
Monitor and remediate vulnerabilities across cloud environments
Ensure adherence to compliance frameworks (e.g. FINMA, nFADP)
Operations & Support
Provide production support for cloud-hosted applications and services
Troubleshoot incidents and ensure timely resolution
Maintain documentation and operational procedures
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support business needs
Networking & Enterprise Services
Manage virtual networks, firewalls, and connectivity (Azure Firewall, VPN, Sophos Firewall)
Monitor and secure network traffic and perimeters
Support enterprise services and end-user cloud integrations
We are looking for candidates fitting below requirements:
4-7+ years of working experience in a similar role in Cloud, or Infrastructure Engineering
Experience in working in high-pace producing environments
Greatly advantageous is working experience in the Financial Services sector, ideally in regulated entities
Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, or Bash)
Strong, hands-on experience with:
Microsoft Azure (core services, architecture, governance)
Automation and CI/CD pipelines Scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, or Bicep)
Solid understanding of:
Networking (VNet, NSG, Firewalls)
Identity management (Azure AD, IAM)
Monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics)
An understanding of DLP technologies (e.g., M365 DLP, Azure Information Protection)
Data classification labels
Access controls (RBAC, Conditional Access)
Encryption and monitoring tools
Preferred Certifications (Nice to Have):
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator / Architect / DevOps Engineer
Azure Security Engineer Associate
Terraform or cloud-native certifications
To be successful in this position requires excellent self-management skills, with an ability to deliver high-quality output even under challenging circumstances. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong understanding of cloud security best practices and is able to apply them effectively across modern, distributed environments. They bring a proactive mindset toward identifying and mitigating security risks, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical systems and data. Experience working in regulated environments is a plus, particularly in navigating complex compliance requirements and aligning security practices with industry standards. The candidate should also be familiar with key compliance frameworks, including nFADP, GDPR, and Swiss Banking Secrecy, and be comfortable incorporating these into day-to-day operations and strategic decision-making.
